| | | Beaver Island Historical Society's Membership Drive
Last year the pattern of diminishing membership was reversed, as members increased from 229 to 305. This year we hope to continue that trend. People who wandered into the Museum and became members remarked that they would have joined earlier if they had known about the BIHS.
This year we're sending this Newsletter to Beaver Island property owners, as well as to past members and other friends. We believe there are more reasons than ever to join. One is economic. The BIHS has become a significant draw, bringing people here to research their heritage or to enjoy the Museum Week programs. Another is that we are at the beginning of a stage of growth, which members have the chance to help guide.
Perhaps the most important reason is hard to put into words. It has to do with Beaver Island's history being part of the reason why we have such an appealing ambiance. We feel that a little exposure would convince you of this.
